A deadly single-vehicle crash in Torrance Tuesday morning prompted the closure of a stretch of Hawthorne Boulevard until further notice.
The crash was reported about 3 a.m. near the intersection of Hawthorne and Artesia Boulevards and one person died, according to the Torrance Police Department.
Video from the scene showed a silver vehicle in the intersection with a yellow tarp covering it.
Hawthorne Boulevard between Redondo Beach and Artesia boulevards was closed until further notice as police try to determine what led up to the crash.
The age, gender and name of the victim were not immediately available.
