Firefighters battled a 10-acre brushfire in Riverside Saturday that threatened 20 structures and resulted in evacuations.
The fire was reported about 5:40 p.m. in an area between Mount Vernon and Valencia Hill Drive, according to the Riverside Fire Department.
About 5:50 p.m., fire officials reported flames around the homes were contained.
The Riverside County Fire Department was assisting the firefighting effort.
