Three former NFL players, a comedian and golf pro will be part of the city of Menifee’s “Holiday Bazaar & Tree Lighting Ceremony” on Saturday.
The free public event is slated to start at 4 p.m. and continue to 8 p.m. at Mt. San Jacinto College’s Menifee satellite campus in the 28200 block of La Piedra Road.
“The event will include games, crafts for kids, a lighted wonderland, with numerous photo opportunities with Santa, and snow for sliding,” according to a city statement.
Former NFL players Paul Bartelt, Sherman Cocroft and Travis Davis are expected to be on hand to talk about their gridiron days in both college and the pros. Youths will be encouraged to engage the men to talk both athletics and academics.
Comedy Central’s Rocky Osborn is additionally expected to be available for autographs and chat, along with JS Golf Enterprises founder James Sanchez.
There will be a mini parade, and the Christmas tree lighting is set for 5:30 p.m.
Guests will be asked to donate new, unwrapped toys for the city’s gift drive to help underprivileged children.
