A power outage on the Metro Gold Line Tuesday delayed service by 20 minutes and closed a southbound section of the line for a time.

The pre-dawn problem was cleared up by about 6 a.m., but some delays were still expected this afternoon, Metro spokesman Dave Sotero said.

Trains were sharing a single track between Heritage Square and the Lincoln/Cypress Gold Line stations, he said.

Express bus service was being provided between Union Station and Highland Park to augment rail service during the afternoon peak commuter period, Sotero said.

Crews were working on repairs so that normal service can resume Wednesday morning, Sotero said.

Gold Line service was delayed Monday evening because of an overhead power supply issue in Chinatown.
