The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose Sunday for the 14th consecutive day, increasing a half-cent to $5.153, its highest amount since Nov. 25.
The average price has increased 18.1 cents over the past 14 days, including seven-tenths of a cent Saturday, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. The streak of increases follows a run of six decreases in seven days totaling 2.2 cents.
The average price is 6.7 cents more than one week ago and 22.9 cents higher than one month ago but 35.6 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.341 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5.
The Orange County average price rose for the sixth consecutive day and 12th time in 13 days, increasing eight-tenths of a cent to $5.098, its highest amount since Nov. 23. It has risen 19.7 cents over the past 13 days, including eight-tenths of a cent Saturday.
The Orange County average price is 7.2 cents more than one week ago and 23.8 cents higher than one month ago but 30.2 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.361 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5.
The national average price dropped two-tenths of a cent to $3.829, one day after a 17-day streak of increases totaling 26.8 cents ended when it was unchanged. It is 7.7 cents more than one week ago and 30 cents higher than one month ago but 25.5 cents less than one year ago.
The national average has dropped $1.187 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
