A woman was struck and killed by a big rig Thursday on the Foothill (210) Freeway in Sylmar.
California Highway Patrol officers were called at 3:03 a.m. to the westbound 210 Freeway and Polk Street, where they found the victim lying on the roadway, CHP Officer Sean Lough told City News Service.
Daniela Giram, 33, of Los Angeles died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
The westbound freeway lanes were closed while an investigation was conducted into the circumstances of her death.
