A boat loaded onto a trailer behind a Corona residence caught fire Monday, resulting in major damage to the watercraft but none to the house.
The non-injury blaze was reported about 4:10 p.m. in the area of Magnolia Avenue and Santana Way, less than a block from Santana Regional Park, according to the Corona Fire Department.
The agency said multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered the boat consumed by flames, along with the trailer.
Firefighters quickly contained the blaze, preventing it from spreading to the residence and adjacent properties, according to reports from the scene.
A fire investigator was summoned at 4:30 p.m. to determine what might have triggered the blaze.
