A person was killed Monday in a traffic crash on the westbound Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway in the Chatsworth area.
The crash was reported about 8:50 a.m. near Topanga Canyon Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Information was not immediately available on the identity of the fatally injured person, who died at the scene.
According to the preliminary investigation, lumber from a flatbed flew through the cab of a moving truck, impaling the person inside.
Some lanes were blocked in the area, and traffic was snarled for miles while an investigation was conducted. All lanes were reopened about 12:15 p.m., the CHP reported.
