A man was killed Tuesday morning in a crash involving two sedans and a utility truck on the San Bernardino (10) Freeway in West Covina.
The crash was reported at 3:13 a.m. Monday on the eastbound San Bernardino Freeway just west of the Grand Avenue off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A witness told the CHP that one of the vehicles was crushed.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, the CHP said.
He was later identified as 25-year-old Jose Lucero Isidoro, according to the Medical Examiner’s office.
All eastbound lanes were stopped at 3:20 a.m. and the CHP requested Caltrans to set up barricades closing the lanes for the investigation and cleanup.
The CHP reopened the HOV lane to traffic at around 4:30 a.m. and the roadway was cleared at 6:31 a.m.
News video showed massive damage to a white sedan in middle lanes and the utility truck crushing the back of a dark Tesla.
