One person was killed when a vehicle crashed and caught fire in Moreno Valley Sunday.
Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department’s Moreno Valley station responded to a report of a vehicle fire in the area of Reche Vista Drive and Country Road at 12:42 a.m. Sunday.
They found a vehicle that had left the roadway, rolled and caught on fire. After the fire was extinguished by Cal Fire personnel, deputies found a person with obvious signs of death near the vehicle.
Reche Vista Drive between Country Road and Heacock Street was closed due to the investigation.
The identity of the person killed was withheld pending notification to the next of kin. The victim’s gender was not immediately available.
