A shooting involving the Los Angeles Police Department Thursday left a person dead, authorities said.
Officers were sent to the 400 block of South Gramercy Place about noon on a report of “a violent male” at the location, according to the LAPD.
Police said the person, described only as a male, “produced a knife” and was shot by police.
The male died at the scene, the LAPD reported. Information on his identity was not immediately available. No officers were hurt.
