A felony suspect has been taken into custody after a pursuit ended on a sidewalk in South Los Angeles, according to a broadcast report Sunday.
The man, who switched vehicles at least once during the pursuit, was arrested late Saturday in the area of 64th and Figueroa streets after trying to run away from the car, ABC7 reported.
Video from the scene shows Los Angeles Police Department patrol cars closely following the slow-moving sedan before the driver abandons it, trying to flee on foot. When multiple officers catch up, the suspect then lies down on a sidewalk, surrendering himself.
LAPD officers also reportedly detained a female passenger who was in one of the cars.
