Two people were injured, one critically, in a two-vehicle collision Wednesday at a Beaumont intersection.
The crash happened just after 9 a.m. at Brookside Avenue and Fairway Drive, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said several engine crews and a paramedic squad were sent to the location and encountered the mangled wreck, which had left one of the motorists trapped.
Crews extricated the victim, whose identity was not released, a short time later and provided life-saving treatment. The party was taken to a regional trauma center in critical condition, according to the fire department.
The other motorist, also not identified, was taken to the hospital for treatment of moderate injuries, officials said.
Beaumont police officers were investigating the cause of the crash.
