The second of two 22-year-old men who were killed when a truck crashed into a tree in Whittier was identified Tuesday.
Officers responded at 8:48 a.m. Sunday to the 5800 block of Norwalk Boulevard, just west of Palm Park, regarding a single-vehicle collision, according to Lt. Paul Segura of the Whittier Police Department.
The driver and passenger were found dead inside the vehicle, Segura said.
The passenger, identified Tuesday by the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office as Joseph Castillo, was unrestrained in the front seat when the truck hit the tree.
The driver was identified Monday by the medical examiner as Victor Vasquez.
Both men sustained multiple blunt force trauma, according to the medical examiner’s office.
