Fire crews knocked down a large structure fire in North Hollywood Sunday.
The fire was reported around 4 p.m. Sunday, at 11115 West Vanowen St., between Tujunga and Vineland avenues, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The flames were burning adjacent to railroad tracks and a commercial building with potentially hazardous materials, and a hazmat crew was deployed.
More than 50 firefighters were required to contain the fire and prevent it from extending into the exposed commercial building, Stewart said.
A Metrolink Surfliner train running between Van Nuys and Burbank Airport South was delayed as a result of the fire, according to a spokesperson for the agency.
No injuries were reported and an extended overhaul operation was planned to take place.
