A man was shot while standing near an intersection in Long Beach and self-transported to a hospital, authorities said Sunday.
The shooting occurred at about 9 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of South Street and Paramount Boulevard, the Long Beach Police Department reported.
The victim took himself to a hospital about four hours later, where he was treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the lower body, police said.
“The suspect fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival,” according to a police statement. “Suspect information and the motive for the shooting are under investigation.”
