A 56-year-old Gainesville, Florida, woman pleaded guilty Monday to charges of stealing health benefits for her daughter from California after the two moved to Florida.
Leanne Michelle Hawk, who was scheduled to be sentenced July 17, pleaded guilty to two felony counts of grand theft with a sentencing enhancement for aggravated white collar crime between $100,000 to $500,000, according to court records.
Hawk, who was charged in August of 2022, was arrested in August of 2023.
According to the criminal complaint, Hawk was accused of obtaining in-home support services on claims made for her daughter after the two moved to Florida.
