The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Thursday for the ninth time in 10 days, decreasing six-tenths of a cent to $4.809.
The average price has dropped 6.6 cents over the past 10 days, including eight-tenths of a cent Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It dropped six consecutive days, rose two-tenths of a cent Monday and resumed dropping Tuesday.
The average price is 3.8 cents less than one week ago and 56.7 cents lower than one year ago but 15.1 cents more than one month ago. It has dropped $1.685 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.
A run of decreases to the Orange County average price was extended to 16 times in 17 days, but barely, as it dropped one-tenth of a cent to $4.76. It has dropped 12.9 cents over the past 17 days, including eight-tenths of a cent Wednesday. The average price dropped 13 consecutive days, rose two-tenths of a cent Sunday and resumed decreasing Monday.
The Orange County average price is 2.3 cents less than one week ago and 53.5 cents lower than one year ago but 15.5 cents more than one month ago. It has dropped $1.699 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price was unchanged, remaining at $3.171 after three consecutive increases totaling 2 cents including a half-cent Wednesday. It is four-tenths of a cent more than one week ago and 4.4 cents higher than one month ago but 48.9 cents less than one year ago.
The national average price has dropped $1.845 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
