A man is under arrest Thursday after leading police on a chase that ended in a crash on the Harbor (110) Freeway when he was ejected from the suspected stolen vehicle he was driving near South Los Angeles.
Los Angeles Police Department officers from the department’s Central Division responded at approximately 3:32 a.m. Thursday regarding a stolen vehicle when the suspect crashed the vehicle on the southbound freeway and Vernon Avenue as he fled from police, LAPD Officer Rosario Cervantes told City News Service.
Police took the suspect into custody after he was ejected from the vehicle, Cervantes said.
According to reports from the scene, the suspect sustained two lacerations to his head in the crash.
The collision blocked three lanes of the southbound freeway for almost two hours.
