An investigation continued Tuesday into the death of a man gunned down in the parking lot of a supermarket in Riverside.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting shortly after 4:20 p.m. Monday in the 9200 block of Magnolia Avenue, according to the Riverside Police Department. They found a man suffering from gunshot wounds, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police spokesperson Officer Ryan Railsback.
The suspect, whose name was not revealed, remained in the parking lot and surrendered to officers. No other injuries were reported.
The motive behind the shooting was not immediately known, but police said “we do not believe it was random,” Railsback said.
