Four people, including a Los Angeles County firefighter and Pomona police officer, suffered minor injuries Tuesday in a fire that damaged two apartments.

Firefighters were called at 2:51 p.m. to the apartment building in the 1300 block of South San Antonio Avenue, a county fire dispatcher said.

A Pomona police officer helped save an occupant from the burning building before fire crews arrived and was treated for smoke inhalation. A firefighter was also treated for heat exhaustion, and a woman and child suffered minor injuries.

The fire was knocked down at 3:21 p.m.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
