A man killed in a shooting in South Los Angeles was identified by the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office Tuesday.
Sky Caldwell, 23, was killed and a 30-year-old man was injured in the shooting, which occurred around 12:10 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of West 61st Street and South Broadway, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson said.
Caldwell died on the sidewalk of a gunshot wound to his chest, according to the medical examiner’s office.
The 30-year-old man taken to a hospital was in stable condition, the LAPD said.
Officers arrived at the scene after both victims were shot, police said.
No suspect description was made available.
Videos from the scene showed the intersection closed and officers investigating evidence on the sidewalk outside of the Classic Motor Inn motel.
