The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County resumed dropping Friday, decreasing four-tenths of a cent to $4.178, its lowest amount since June 21, 2021.

A run of 36 decreases in 37 days totaling 52 cents ended Thursday with an increase of three-tenths of a cent, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 4.2 cents less than one week ago, 41.7 cents lower than one month ago and 9.7 cents below what it was one year ago.

The average price has dropped $2.195 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price rose one-tenth of a cent to $2.848 after back-to-back decreases totaling 1.1 cents. It is 3.3 cents less than one week ago, 19.4 cents lower than one month ago and one year ago.

The national average price has dropped $2.168 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
