A Silver Alert was in effect Friday for an 83-year-old man reported missing in Hemet.

Mahmoud Fouladi was last seen about 7:30 a.m. Thursday at Columbia Street and East Florida Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol, which issued the alert on behalf of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Fouladi was described as 5 feet, 6 inches tall, weighing 130 pounds, with gray hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing dark gray sweatpants, light gray long sleeve shirt and using a walker.

Authorities believe he may be traveling on foot.

Anyone with information about his whereabout was asked to call 911.

The CHP established the Silver Alert program to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearances of elderly, developmentally disabled or cognitively impaired individuals.
