Firefighters extricated two passengers from a vehicle that collided with a heavy-rail train Sunday on the Metro East Line in Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles Fire Department reported the incident about 4 p.m. near South Raymond Avenue and West Exposition Boulevard.
The two vehicle passengers were transported to a local hospital, according to the department. It was unclear if those were the only vehicle occupants. All passengers on the train were assessed and were uninjured.
Metro shut down the tracks in both directions for an unspecified period of time while the vehicle is removed and passengers are off-loaded at the next platform.
The cause of the collision was not immediately known.
