One person was injured in an apparent shooting on the Santa Monica (10) Freeway in Los Angeles Wednesday.
The shooting was reported at about 12:25 p.m. Wednesday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A vehicle was stopped near the intersection of Hoover Street and Adams Boulevard in the University Park area west of downtown Los Angeles, where firefighters responded and took one person to a hospital, according to the CHP, which responded to the scene along with the Los Angeles Police Department.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the victim was a man who appeared to be in 40s. He was suffering from a gunshot wound when firefighters located him and his condition was described as serious, an LAFD spokeswoman said.
A report from that scene showed a dark-colored SUV with what looked like a bullet hole in its windshield.
