The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose Monday for the second consecutive day following the run of seven decreases in eight days that dropped it to its lowest amount since Dec. 20, 2024, increasing three-tenths of a cent to $4.37.

The average price dropped 6.9 cents during the run, including a half-cent Saturday, then rose two-tenths of a cent Sunday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 5.9 cents less than one week ago, 18.2 cents lower than one month ago and 8 cents below what it was one year ago.

The average price has dropped $2.124 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price resumed dropping, decreasing nine-tenths of a cent to $4.24, its lowest amount since June 25, 2021, one day after an eight-day streak of decreases totaling 6.6 cents ended with an increase of one-tenth of a cent.

The Orange County average price is 6.6 cents less than one week ago, 21.3 cents lower than one month ago and 14.6 cents less than it was one year ago. It has dropped $2.219 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The three-day streak of decreases to the national average price totaling 2.4 cents ended with an increase of one-tenth of a cent to $2.796. It is 1.6 cents less than one week ago, 13.6 cents lower than one month ago and 27.1 cents below what it was one year ago.

The national average price has dropped $2.22 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
