The run of nine decreases in 10 days that dropped the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County to its lowest amount since May 27, 2021, ended Thursday with an increase of a half-cent to $4.125.
The average price dropped 4.7 cents during the run, including four-tenths of a cent Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It dropped seven consecutive days, rose a half-cent Monday and resumed decreasing Tuesday.
The average price is 1.3 cents less than one week ago, 16 cents lower than one month ago and 19.3 cents below what it was one year ago. It dropped $2.248 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price rose for the fourth consecutive day following a three-day streak of decreases totaling 2.4 cents, rising four-tenths of a cents to $2.844. It has increased 4.9 cents over the past four days, including 2 cents Wednesday.
The national average price is 2.5 cents more than one week ago but 6.2 cents less than one month ago and 24.5 cents lower than one year ago. It has dropped $2.172 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
