Homicide detectives were investigating a man’s shooting death in East Los Angeles Saturday.
Deputies were patrolling in the 4700 block of Whittier Boulevard, a few blocks east of the Long Beach (710) Freeway, at about 3:25 a.m. Saturday when they observed a man lying on the north side of Whittier Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The victim, described as a Hispanic man in his 30s or 40s, had a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. No further details were immediately available.
