Police sought the public’s assistance Monday in locating a suspected hit-and-run driver who severely injured a 30-year-old skateboarder in Panorama City.
The collision occurred at 5:15 p.m. last Thursday near Nordhoff Street and Lurline Avenue, when a gray four-door Ford Fusion traveling at a high rate of speed struck the victim, causing him to fall and hit the road near the curb, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Police said the driver failed to stop following the collision and continued traveling westbound on Nordhoff Street before making a U-turn and heading eastbound.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene, where they took the victim to a hospital in critical condition. The extent of the man’s injuries was not provided.
Detectives said additional details of the suspect vehicle include a light gray repaint on the front right fender, white tape around the edges of both rear headlamps, and possibly rear tinted windows.

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the suspect.
