A man who police say is armed with a handgun is barricaded inside a Honda Civic in North Hills, the Los Angeles Police Department, said Thursday.
LAPD officers noticed the car at 3:14 a.m. Thursday parked illegally at the corner of Hayvenhurst Avenue and Sherbourne Street, an LAPD spokesman told City News Service.
The officers issued the man several verbal commands, but he did not responded, LAPD Officer Rosario Cervantes said.
The Honda’s has tinted windows making it difficult to observe the condition of the driver, police said.
Officers established a perimeter of several blocks surrounding the suspect and Fox 11 reported the department has called a SWAT team to the scene.
