An 80-year-old pedestrian and his dog were killed after they were struck by a Maserati in a hit-and-run in Sherman Oaks and Wednesday the driver is on the loose.
Los Angeles Police Department officers were called at 11:35 p.m. Tuesday to 4400 block of Woodman Avenue and Moorpark Street when the driver of the Maserati was traveling north on Woodman when they struck the pedestrian and his dog, an LAPD spokesman told City News Service.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics took the victim to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The dog was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver failed to stop or help the victim and drove away from the scene in an unknown direction, according to the LAPD.
