A 66-year-old woman who died from injuries suffered when she was struck earlier this month by a hit-and-run vehicle in South Los Angeles was publicly identified Saturday.
Shiela Johnson died Sunday from the effects of blunt force injuries in an accident, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office said. Her city of residence was not provided.
She was struck about 6:55 p.m. Jan. 12 in an unmarked crosswalk at the intersection of 45th Place and Western Avenue in the Vermont Square neighborhood, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The vehicle was described as a silver Honda Odyssey van heading north on Western Avenue and last seen eastbound on 42nd Place from Western, police said.
The city of Los Angeles has a standing $50,000 reward offer for information leading to convictions in fatal hit-and-run cases.
