An investigation was continuing Monday into a solo-vehicle collision that killed a motorist in Palm Desert.
The crash was reported shortly after 8:30 p.m. Saturday in the area of Country Club Drive and El Dorado Drive, according to Sgt. Robert Martinez of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Sheriff’s officials said a vehicle struck a palm tree, and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The circumstances behind the crash were not immediately available, and the driver’s identity was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
