Firefighters, with the assistance of sprinklers, knocked down a kitchen fire Monday that was triggered by food on the stove in one unit of a two-story duplex in South Los Angeles, authorities said.
A person was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.
Firefighters dispatched at 10:25 a.m. Monday to 542 W. 79th St. had the fire out within 12 minutes of their arrival.
No other injuries were reported.
