An at-risk 82-year-old man was reported missing after he was last seen Thursday in Hacienda Heights, prompting a Silver Alert.
John Garside was last seen at approximately 8 a.m. Thursday in the area of Glenelder Avenue and Wedgeworth Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol, which activated the alert on behalf of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Garside was described as a 6-foot-1-inch-tall man weighing 320 pounds with gray hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt and gray pants.
Authorities said Garside is believed to be traveling in a 2021 Ford Bronco with California license plate 8WNF417.
Anyone with information regarding Garside’s whereabouts was urged to call 911.
The Silver Alert program was established by the CHP to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearances of elderly, developmentally disabled or cognitively impaired individuals.
