Los Angeles County Assessor Jeff Prang Wednesday announced the opening of a new regional public service counter in Castaic that will provide in-person assistance to property owners and residents in northern Los Angeles County.

The North District Regional Public Service Counter will open June 22 at the Castaic Library, 27971 Sloan Canyon Road.

According to the Assessor’s Office, the new location is intended to expand public access to property tax information and assessment services for residents in the area.

“Our goal is to make it easier for residents to access the services and assistance they need,” Prang said in a statement. “These public service counters allow our staff to work directly with property owners, answer questions, and help people better understand the programs and resources available to them.”

The service counter will operate Mondays and Fridays, excluding county holidays, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visitors must be in line by 4:45 p.m. to receive assistance before closing.

Officials said residents will be able to obtain property assessment information, ask questions and receive help with services provided by the Assessor’s Office.

Prang said the new counter reflects the department’s effort to bring county services closer to the communities they serve and improve access to information for property owners.
