The transition from the southbound Long Beach (710) Freeway to the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway in Long Beach was temporarily closed Friday morning due to a fire near the Los Angeles River.
The fire was first reported to the California Highway Patrol at 1:07 a.m. Friday, according to the CHP’s online log.
The transition road was shut down at about 1:25 a.m., the CHP said.
A secondary fire was noted at 1:30 a.m. near the first.
The area was cleared at 1:38 a.m., the CHP reported.
