An at-risk 80-year-old man was reported missing after being last seen Friday in Paramount, prompting the issuance of a Silver Alert.
Pedro Sosa Castaneda was last seen at approximately 10:30 a.m. Friday near Paramount and Alondra boulevards, according to the California Highway Patrol, which activated the alert on behalf of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Castaneda was described as a 5-foot-8-inch-tall man weighing 180 pounds with white hair and blue eyes.
He was last seen wearing a red checkered shirt, blue pants and a black hat.
Authorities believed that Castaneda was last seen traveling in a red 2010 Subaru Forester compact crossover SUV with California license plate 8XAC473.
Anyone with information about Castaneda’s whereabouts was urged to call 911.
The Silver Alert program was established by the CHP to coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearances of elderly, developmentally disabled or cognitively impaired people.
