Basketball Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade’s oldest son — who was arrested last month in Burbank on suspicion of domestic violence — was charged Thursday with a felony count.
Zaire Blessing Wade, 24, is scheduled to be arraigned next Thursday in a Pasadena courtroom, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
The criminal complaint charges the younger Wade with one felony count of injuring a spouse, cohabitant, fiance, boyfriend, girlfriend or child’s parent on June 21, with the alleged victim identified in the complaint only as “Jane Doe.”
Zaire Wade was arrested June 21 by Burbank police and released later that day on a $50,000 bond, jail records show.
Police were dispatched to a home in Burbank at around 5:30 a.m. that day, in response to a woman screaming that prompted a 911 call, NBC4 reported last month, citing information from investigators.
Officers located the woman, who had several lacerations on her face and body, the station reported.
Paramedics were called to the scene to check on the woman, but she was not taken to a hospital.
According to various reports, an emergency protective order was issued.
