A grass fire burned about a quarter-acre of vegetation in Pacoima Monday evening before being contained, with no reported injuries or damage to any structures.

Firefighters responded at approximately 7:10 p.m. Monday near the westbound Ronald Reagan(118) Freeway, where a grass fire was burning close to a residential area, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The fire was fought by air and ground, with several water-dropping helicopters assisting with extinguishing the blaze as ground crews developed hoselines.

The fire was contained in 26 minutes, LAFD spokeswoman Jennifer Middleton said. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
