A white powdery substance prompted a hazardous materials investigation Monday at Los Angeles City Hall.
The substance was observed inside a sealed bag in a mailroom at City Hall East at 200 N. Main St., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
One person who was not exposed was assessed and declined medical transport, according to the LAFD, which sent a hazardous materials crew to the scene.
Firefighters were awaiting arrival of a Los Angeles Police Department hazmat team.
