At least one person in a minivan was shot and wounded in Lancaster, a sheriff’s watch commander said Thursday.
The shooting was reported at 10:09 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Third Street East and Avenue I, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
A second person in the minivan may also have been struck by gunfire, as two individuals, a man and a woman, drove themselves to the sheriff’s Lancaster station in the 500 block of West Lancaster Boulevard and from there, both were taken to a hospital.
The minivan they were in appeared to be riddled with bullets on the passenger side.
Video showed a woman on a gurney talking while being loaded into an ambulance and a shirtless man who was walking and talking also being placed in a rescue ambulance.
No suspect information was immediately available.
According to a broadcast report, whoever fired the shots may have been known to the victims.
