A brush fire has burned approximately 10 acres of vegetation in the Whittier Narrows Recreation Area in South El Monte Monday.
Firefighters responded around 4:15 p.m. to the fire near Rosemead Boulevard and the Pomona (60) Freeway, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
There were no reports of injuries or any damage to any area structures.
A second alarm to summon additional firefighters was requested at 4:57 p.m., the department announced.
