A Silver Alert was in effect Wednesday in Los Angeles County for an 80-year-old man who was last seen in South Los Angeles.
Jeff Johnson was last seen at approximately 9:20 p.m. Monday in the area of 36th Street and Normandie Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol, which activated the alert on behalf of the Los Angeles Police Department Tuesday.
Johnson was described as a 6-foot-1-inch tall Black man weighing 218 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt, blue pants and black shoes. He is believed to be walking.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts was urged to call 911.
The CHP activates a Silver Alert when an elderly or developmentally or cognitively impaired person goes missing and is determined to be at-risk to help them be recovered more quickly.
