A 39-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle before sunrise Wednesday in Compton with the driver fleeing.
The crash was reported about 4:50 a.m. Wednesday on Alameda Street near Pine Street, near the border with the unincorporated Willowbrook area, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The victim was later identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner as Julio Munoz.
The sheriff’s department did not provide a description of the suspect vehicle.
