A brush fire scorched about 20 acres of vegetation near the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway in the Sepulveda Pass Wednesday, prompting some evacuation warnings but not immediately causing any injuries or structural damage.
The fire was reported around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday near Getty Center Drive, north of the Getty Center museum. Multiple water-dropping helicopters were dispatched to the scene to help douse the flames.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, no structures were reported threatened, but evacuation warnings were issued in the area.
The Getty Center was closed Wednesday afternoon due to the fire.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
