A vehicle rolled over on the southbound Golden State (5) Freeway in Santa Clarita, Friday leaving one person stuck in the wreckage for a time, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The victim of the single-vehicle accident was transported to a hospital after being extricated by firefighters, said supervising fire dispatcher Miguel Ornelas of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. There was no immediate word on the person’s condition.

The accident was reported to the CHP at 12:27 a.m. on the southbound Golden State (5) Freeway just north of Calgrove Boulevard, the agency said, adding that the vehicle struck the center divider and rolled over to the right lanes. All southbound lanes were closed for 30 minutes as the patient was being extricated.
