An 18-year-old man was fatally shot in the unincorporated Florence-Firestone area, authorities said Tuesday.
The victim, whose name was not released, was found by a deputy from the sheriff’s Transit Policing Division around 11:10 p.m. Monday in the 9000 block of Holmes Avenue, between 88th and 92nd streets, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Crystal Hernandez said.
He was pronounced dead at a hospital, Hernandez said.
Delores Perez, a woman at the scene who said she was the victim’s mother, identified him as Alfonso Maldonado, according to news reports.
