One man was shot to death Sunday on a street in Compton and sheriff’s homicide detectives were investigating the homicide, according to a sheriff’s deputy.
The shooting was at about 5:35 p.m. in the 200 block of Willowbrook Avenue, Deputy Jeff Gordon said.

The victim was taken to a hospital, where he later died, Gordon said. His name was withheld pending notification of kin.
The Compton train station on the Blue Line was temporarily shut down due to the investigation, Metro said.
A motive for the attack was unknown.
The sheriff’s department has not released information regarding a suspect or suspects.
